St. Andrew’s College invites applications for a full-time ten-month limited term teaching appointment in Pastoral Studies, commencing 1 August 2019. The successful candidate will have academic qualifications in Pastoral Studies or a related field (Ph.D. or Th.D. degree or equivalent completed or near completion), knowledge and competence in congregational worship leadership, knowledge and critical appreciation of worship practices and ethos of The United Church of Canada.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach introductory and advanced/elective courses in Christian public worship, Christian Education, and Preaching for a maximum of four courses per semester or their equivalent, as negotiated with the Divinity Faculty Council and Principal. These will normally be for the basic degree Master of Divinity and Master of Theological Studies programs but may also include courses for the advanced degree Master of Theology or Doctor of Ministry programs, and other specialized or distributed learning offerings. Courses at St. Andrew’s College are taught in face-to-face, asynchronous online, and synchronous online formats, and the successful candidate must be willing to teach in all three formats. Along with sharing in other Faculty administrative duties and responsibilities in College community life, the successful candidate will assume primary responsibility for coordinating chapel worship.
